Title & Program: School-Based Therapist, SLBH

Credentials: MSW, TG LGSW

Specialty Training:
While I do not have formal specialty training yet, my education and experience have given me a strong foundation in working with adolescents, especially those impacted by trauma and life stressors. During school, I took special interest in understanding how trauma affects emotional regulation, behavior, and relationships. I am passionate about continuing to grow my knowledge and skills to better support youth and families in meaningful ways.

Education:
I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work through the University of Minnesota Duluth. Their program is one of the few MSW programs in the nation that includes a special focus on American Indian community and specialized course content.

Hobbies:
I live on a small hobby farm and enjoy the simple moments that come with country life. The best part of my day is spending quality time with my family and making the most of everyday moments together. I also enjoy horseback riding with my husband, which gives me the opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy the outdoors. Living on a hobby farm has taught me the importance of balance, patience, and staying grounded, and I value activities that help me feel connected both with myself and those around me.

When did you join RMHC?
I joined RMHC because it gave me the opportunity to work directly within the school system, which is where I believe many children and adolescents need support the most. Schools provide an important environment for growth, learning, and connection, and I wanted to be part of helping students build confidence, emotional awareness, and healthy coping skills where they spend much of their time. The opportunity to support youth in a familiar and accessible setting was something that really is a passion for me.

Why do you work at RMHC?
RMHC has quickly become like a second family to me. From the beginning, I felt welcomed into an environment that is supportive, compassionate, and genuinely dedicated to helping both clients and staff succeed. I appreciate being surrounded by people who are passionate about making a difference and who truly care about the well-being of the children and families we serve. Working at RMHC has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally while doing meaningful work that I truly enjoy. I look forward to the continued opportunities and growth that RMHC will support me along my journey.
